Assemblyman Mike Gatto, a native Californian with Italian roots and an enthusiasm for Italian genealogy, will be speaking to the group at the SCGS Library in Burbank at their March meeting. Mr. Gatto represents the 43rd Assembly District which includes the communities of Burbank, Glendale, La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose, Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Franklin Hills, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake.
Assemblyman Gatto will be sharing his ancestral interests with the group. He will also be showing his appreciation of the work done by SCGS by presenting the Italian Interest Group with a Certificate of Recognition from the California Assembly.
You don't need to be a member of the Italian Interest Group or even to have Italian ancestry to attend.
The meeting will be held at a special time from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 21st at the SCGS Library located at 417 Irving Drive in Burbank (cross street Glenoaks Blvd).
Regular meetings are held the third Saturday of every other month from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Topics that will be addressed in coming months include accessing and transcribing Italian records, Italian history and geography, and learning to break through Italian genealogical brick walls.
