Here is the session plan for our July meeting. In particular, I want to alert Mac users to come with their systems so we can carefully locate and compare the operation of features between the Mac and PC versions of Family Tree Maker.
Part 1. Presentation of features of FastStone Image Viewer 5.3 - free software for image viewing and editing for the PC. This is the outstanding companion of FastStone Screen Capture discussed last year. Besides being a nimble image viewer, this PC program puts basic editing capabilities at your fingertips and some extremely nifty tools for creating slide shows and image collages. And it’s free!
Part 2. Report from Jamboree 2015. Dick will share some of his conversations with Ancestry and Family Tree Maker representatives at the recent Genealogy Jamboree in Burbank.
Part 3. Mac users – bring your laptop to this session to explore how the user interface of FTM3 for Mac compares with Family Tree Maker PC version.
In addition to the regular session handout, Tip #5 in Dick’s “How To …” series will be distributed. Remember that all previous session handouts and “How To” tips are available in a binder in the SCGS library. You are welcome to peruse them there and make copies if you wish.
I will send a further reminder a week or so before the upcoming session.
