[CA-SCGS] Beginner's Class - First Steps: Saturday, November 14,2015

Beginner's Class - First Steps

Do you have an interest in finding your roots but don't know how to start?
Have you tried to find ancestors but had no luck?
Do you have a friend or relative with an interest, but don't know how to help them?

The Southern California Genealogical Society's Beginner's Class - First Steps will be offered Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Southern California Genealogical Society Research Library.

The class is free to SCGS members and open to the public for $10.

The Beginner's Class - First Steps will provide you with the information and skills necessary to begin the search for your ancestors. The class introduces you to the basics, including setting goals, keeping organized, identifying resources, using federal and state census records and introduction to  online sources that are available. A free tour of the SCGS Research Library is available following the class for those interested. All participants are invited to attend the Lunch and Learn presentations immediately following the class.
