A special note from SCGS member Jane Van Tour:
I have had the pleasure of attending other tapings of Season 3 of Genealogy Roadshow. This one is in our backyard - please come, you won't be disappointed! As you see the historic Union Station with its mixture of Spanish Colonial, Mission Revival and Art Deco architecture, open your genealogical minds. You may hear the notes of a Glen Miller song or see the many troops who moved through the station during World War II. Perhaps, like our Jamboree Chair Alice Fairhurst, one of them was your relative. Visit the SCGS table and those of the other groups who are there. Please make sure to stop by the PBS table and get a picture with one of their signs and thank them for their programming. You can also use your research skills to find other things to do in the area.
The Southern California Genealogical Society would like to thank PBS and Genealogy Roadshow for this wonderful event and for the excellent work they do to provide educational opportunities and to showcase the richness and diversity that family history and genealogy can help us discover about our ancestors, and ourselves.
