Following the April meeting of the SCGS German Interest Group, held at the SCGS Library in Burbank, several enthusiastic members of the group went for an "evening out" at the nearby Red Lion Tavern in Los Angeles.
Tables
were rearranged, traditional German food was enjoyed, and a few adult
beverages were consumed. The group agreed that the evening out was so
enjoyable that it should become an annual event. This, of course, is in
addition to their annual Oktoberfest potluck which will be held during
the October 15th meeting. If this type of social activity is appealing,
please consider joining the SCGS German Interest Group.
The next SCGS German Group meeting will be held on June 18, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the SCGS Library. After the popular short sessions on "Common German Words" presented by Edward McKelvey and "Reading German Gothic Script" by Walt Sturrock, the group will discuss various German websites as well as their experiences at this year's Jamboree.
There is no cost to attend the meetings and the public is always welcome.
