Beginner's Class - First Steps

Just starting out and looking for some help?

Are you realizing that you are not going to find everything you want to know on just one or two websites?

Join instructor Adrian Foushee and the Southern California Genealogical Society in learning how to start your research right.

The Southern California Genealogical Society's Beginner's Class - First Steps will be offered Saturday,September 10, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Southern California Genealogical Society Research Library.

The class is free to SCGS members and open to the public for $10.

The Beginner's Class - First Steps will provide you with the information and skills necessary to begin the search for your ancestors. The class introduces you to the basics, including setting goals, keeping organized, identifying resources, using federal and state census records and introduction to  online sources that are available. A free tour of the SCGS Research Library is available following the class for those interested. All participants are invited to attend the Lunch and Learn presentations immediately following the class.
