Get Started with Citing Sources in your Trees
Do you know what it means to "cite your sources"? Today, without specifying how information is known, family trees garner little respect. Family Tree Maker's citation strategy involves a straightforward connection between facts and their sources. To aid beginners, ground rules will be discussed at this session and the role of templates explained. Some simple sourcing patterns will be presented for common resources such as census images, death certificates, online indexes like SSDI, Find A Grave memorials, published online trees and personal documents. Join us in this session on essential genealogy practices.
User Group Leader, Dick Humphrey, will be at the library by 2:30 pm to chat and provide FTM assistance.
