Double Bill Lunch and Learn!
“The Many Tools of Find A Grave” & "Insider’s Guide to USGenWeb"
The fun begins at 12:00 noon this Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the SCGS Library in Burbank when you are invited to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy while you talk with your fellow family historians.
The Program:
“The Many Tools of Find A Grave”, presented by Blythe Stokes at 1:00 p.m.
Find A Grave is a robust and invaluable website for genealogical research. At this time there are 142 million grave site memorials with photographs. With the help of volunteers around the world, more and more grave sites are being discovered, photographed and posted on Find A Grave. Each photograph taken and placed on Find A Grave gives you the ability to view grave sites without having to travel to its location. We will also learn how to utilize Find A Grave's many tools, from search tools to the setting up of virtual cemeteries. It is an amazing website and it's free!!!
"Insider’s Guide to USGenWeb" , presented by Joy Fisher at 2:15 p.m.
The USGenWeb Project is celebrating 20 years of free genealogy. It is an all-volunteer organization embracing thousands of websites covering the entire United States. Since each volunteer finds his or her own web space, navigation around USGenWeb can be a little intimidating for the visitor. Learn about the many facets of USGenWeb: state web sites, county websites, special projects and more.
