FREE Update for Family Tree Maker
WELL, IT’S FINALLY ARRIVING – The Long Promised FREE
update to Family Tree Maker. For both Windows and Mac users.
By the end of Friday, December 30, registered users should
be receiving an e-mail from Software MacKiev. If not yet registered with
MacKiev, visit https://www.mackiev.com/familytreemaker/ftm3/ftm_signup.html?ext=yes.
The FTM User Group on Sunday, January 8, will be devoted to
your options and how to download, install and set up this first Software
MacKiev release to the entire Family Tree Maker community.
As mentioned on previous occasions, this free update will
not add any new features. It contains improvements, “under the hood” so to
speak, to make FTM run better.
This IS NOT the new version of Family Tree Maker that
will utilize a new syncing system with Ancestry.com. That is still to come in
2017.
TreeSync is continuing to function into 2017 – both with
your current FTM software and also this free update.
SO – there is no need to hurry and immediately download
or install this update.
At this next user group session, the entire process will
be carefully demonstrated – from accessing the Software MacKiev website, to
downloading the software, to saving it for future use (so you don’t have to
purchase a backup CD or USB drive, to preparing your current files, to
installing the updated program, to looking at its internal presentation (same
as current Ancestry and MacKiev versions).
Join us on Sunday, January 8 at 4:00pm for all the
details and all your questions.
If you would like further reading, here are two recent posts from Jack Minsky, President of Software MacKiev.
User group leader, Dick Humphrey, will be at the library by 2:30 pm to chat and provide FTM assistance.
