[CA-SCGS] SCGS Beginner's Classes - Four Week Series Starts Tuesday, September 5, 2017

Do you have an interest in finding your roots but want assistance to start?
Do you have a friend or relative with an interest who also lacks the skills and knowledge?

The Southern California Genealogical Society’s Beginner’s Four Week Class with One-on-One Assistance will be offered 4 consecutive Tuesdays in September (5th, 12th, 19th and, 26th) from 9:30 am- 11:30 am at the Southern California Genealogical Society Family Research Library.

Classes are free to SCGS Members and just $10 for the series for non-members.

The Beginner’s Four Week Class with One-on-One Assistance provides the information and skills needed to begin the search for your ancestors. The class introduces you to a variety of records and strategies for successful research. 

Week 1:  The Basics of Getting Started
                
Week 2:  Census Records and their Substitutes 
                
Week 3:  Church Records

Week 4:  Military and Land Records

The Southern California Genealogical Society Library will be open for research following the class for those interested in practicing their skills.
