from Dick Humphrey,
leader of the FTM User Group
The real power tool of any database system is the ability
to ask questions, that is, ‘set up a filter’ – aka make a ‘query’ - and get a
list of results. (Example: list everyone buried in Memorial Park Cemetery.)
Filters have been a feature of Family Tree Maker for many, many years. But new
in Family Tree Maker 2017 is the ability to save the filter results and give
them a color coding (which appears in the Name Index and in the Pedigree and
Family Views).
On Sunday, September 10, at the SCGS Library from
4:00-6:00pm our FTM User Group will focus on understanding filters and setting
up criteria for interesting questions. Join us and expand your FTM
capabilities.
Dick will also be at the library by 2:30 pm to chat and
provide FTM assistance.
