A Journey to Reclaim Our Heritage
Helen Chan visited her ancestral village and decided to rebuild her family home. Celebrate Chinese New Year with traditional food.
The Chinese Family History Group of SoCal (CFHGSC) meets to help anyone on a quest to trace his or her Chinese ancestors. In addition to assessing traditional genealogical sources of information for relevance, CFHGSC assists in looking at background information on clan genealogy books, family surnames, location of ancestral villages, Exclusion Act records, oral interviews, and local sources of information as yet untapped. We document our findings and share methods to pass our family histories on to future generations.
