1:00
- 2:00 p.m. “British
Census Records”
The
British Census is an excellent way to trace your British ancestors through
time. Like the US Census, it is taken every 10 years, starting in
1841. The British Census has sometimes more information and sometimes less
information. This presentation will give you a better idea how to use the
British Census and will show you how to trace you British ancestors using the
British census.
2:`15
- 3:15 p.m. “British Parish
Records”
Parish
Registers are the backbone for English research from the 1550’s to 1837.
Though still used after 1837 they are supplemented with civil registrations for
birth, marriage, and death certificates. Prior to 1837 all the genealogy
information was generated by the Church of England. This presentation
will dig deep into the three main registers, Baptism, Marriage, and
Burial. There are many other areas that we will explore.
Hal Horrocks is a native of Long Beach and currently
living in Costa Mesa. Mr.Horrocks is a professional genealogist, teacher,
