“Stop Procrastinating, Let’s Write Your
Memoir:
Pre-writing and First Draft Session”
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
This session will assist those wanting to get started
writing personal narratives about their lives. Strategies will include: Life
Maps, Explode the Moment, Show vs. Tell and others. Walk away with a solid
first draft to the first chapter of the stories of your life. Please bring your
laptop or something to write on.

Woodson
Elise Woodson is an Educator with
over 25 years of experience in various roles in the field of Education;
including a classroom teacher, community college instructor, school district
administrator, academic coach for UCLA, and Education and Film curator at the
California African American Museum. She
is the founder and facilitator of the Community Writers Group which publishes a
yearly compilation of personal narratives, entitled SNAPSHOTS. Elise holds a BA degree in Education from the
University of Detroit, and a MA in Education from Cambridge College in
Massachusetts.

Doors open at 12:00 noon. Bring a brown bag lunch and sit, chat, and share your genealogy stories with fellow family historians while you eat. The program of lectures will begin at 1:00 p.m.
