Adoption Research can be a very emotional undertaking whether you are the adoptee or the parent. If you are working an ancestral adoption (someone long ago was adopted) records can be scarce. Come and find out tips for Researching through Adoption Records.  



Introduction to Tax, Land and Military Records    2:10 to 3:10 p.m.

This class will introduce you to the vast array of Tax, Military and Land records which could just help you break through those brick walls. Come take your research to the next level.


Ports of Entry  3:20 to 4:20 p.m.

All ships and ports kept records and many of our ancestors did not come through Ellis Island. Come learn about the other ports and how to find their records Some discussion of Ellis Island and Castle Garden will be included.

Kim R. von Aspern-Parker

Kim von Aspern-Parker has been researching her family history since the bug bit her in 1987. She actively searches for family on both her adopted line and her birth line. In addition Ms. von Aspern-Parker has worked as a professional genealogical researcher for more than 19 years. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, and the Genealogical Speakers Guild. When she is not doing genealogy research for herself or others Ms. von Aspern-Parker likes to do needlework and read.
