Using various clues, this presentation, in 2 parts) shows how to
move from one piece of information to the next to piece together the life of an
ancestral family. The steps used are illustrated so that they can be
followed by the beginner as well as the seasoned genealogist. Various
records are used to explained. Some general information on how to access
records is also included.

Directories are briefly mentioned in the “Clue to Clue” lectures, but were used
extensively to continue to piece together the puzzle. While many are familiar
with researching ancestors via City Directories, the wealth within their pages
can shed light on many additional bits of information about the lives they led,
the occupations they held, and the organizations they belonged to. Find out the
hidden treasures in these books!

Wilcox Hibben
is a national speaker and author. She is the current staff trainer for the
Corona, CA Family History Center, has worked on background research for two
genealogy television programs, and hosts podcasts with Gena Philibert-Ortega, (genaandjean.blogspot.com). With over 40
years of research experience, she is the current President of APG the So. Cal.
Chapter, on the Board of Directors of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, 1st
VP of the Int’l Society of Family History Writers and Editors, and President of
