[CA-SCGS] British Isles Family History Society Interest Group Meets at SCGS--Sunday, August 25, 2019, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm





SCGS British Isles Family History Society- USA Interest Group meets on the 4th Sunday of the month from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.


This month's topic:
 Ivan C. Johnson speaking on
 "Finding Jane Mawer: Breaking Through a Brick Wall
in 18th century England"

Speaker Bio: Ivan C. Johnson, Lincolnshire-born, a long-time genealogy researcher, former present of the British Isles Family History Society--U.S.A. and CSUN Professor Emeritus.
Professor Johnson will take you through the frustrations and exultations in the search for his 3rd great grandmother Jane Mawer in rural Lincolnshire, England, detailing the sources he used.

The BIFHS- USA Interest Group promotes and encourages interest in family history, particularly relating to ancestry in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. We educate and encourage others in British Isles family history through research assistance, a variety of resources and a community in order to facilitate the acquisition and exchange of family history research information.

Everyone with an interest is welcome to participate!


We alternate meetings at the Southern California Genealogical Society Library in Burbank (SCGS) and the Family History Library at 1591 E. Temple Way, Los Angeles, CA 90024 (FHL).
