Topic: Success in the Richardson Surname Y-DNA Project

The Richardson surname stands for the son of Richard. Obviously there will be many different Richard progenitors with different DNA signatures. Last year we had discovered 47 different groups along with a large number of unmatched testers. One group successfully traced their lineage to a Richardson progenitor living in England in 1609. Learn how they worked together to find their ancestor.

Presenter: John Richardson, PhD, Professor Emeritus, UCLA Department of Information Studies, has taught graduate level courses on genealogical information resources. His personal focus is on early 19th-20th century Ohio, especially Belmont, Guernsey, Jefferson, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, and Washington counties as well as earlier 19th century emigration from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. He is also the Richardson
Surname Administrator for Family Tree DNA.
