DESCRIPTION: Join
professional genealogist Shamele Jordon as she coaches participants through
using the Freedmen’s Bureau Records. During this interactive two-hour workshop,
participants will be guided through the methodology needed to effectively
research in the Records of (White) Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands
(1865 - 1872).
Participants will learn strategies and tools for exploring these records and then have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge with hands-on research in state breakout rooms. Registration is required. Space is limited. Please cancel if you are unable to attend there will be a wait-list.
