TopicSurprise! You’re Not Lithuanian and Polish After All

What happens when there has been no hint of family scandal, yet DNA results seem to be telling a different story than expected?  Do you dismiss the DNA or dig further for an explanation that makes sense?  Does the news come in increments or in a single blast?  How does this affect one’s sense of identity?  What happens to love and trust?  Do all family members need to learn the truth?  Hear first-hand how Lisa Fairhurst chose to deal with the surprise in her family tree.

Presenters: Lisa Fairhurst, BS in Mathematics, teaches middle school in the Oceanside area and is the co-author with her mother-in-law Alice Fairhurst of the book Effective Teaching, Effective Learning.  Alice Fairhurst, MS is past-president of SCGS and a lecturer on DNA topics.
