April 21, 2011 - BURBANK, CALIFORNIA. The Southern California Genealogical Society announces the winners of the 2010 GENEii(sm) Family History Writing Contest which is sponsored by the Society.
Prizes are awarded in two categories. Category 1 is for articles between 1,000 and 2,000 words in length. Category 2 is for articles under 1,000 words in length. Both categories are for family history or local-history stories, memoirs, or character sketches. Submissions may be either unpublished or previously published. All submissions must be factual, honest, and as accurate as possible.

Contest winners will be recognized at the luncheon that will be held during the Family History Writers Conference. The Writers Conference will be held in conjunction with the Society's annual Genealogy Jamboree in June 2011. The conference and luncheon details are found at www.genealogyjamboree.com.
The 2011 contest submission dates are November 1 through December 31, 2011.
