[CA-SCGS] GENEii Family History Writing Contest Deadline Looms: Enter Now

The GENEii Family History Writing Contest ends soon. Writers have until December 31st to submit their entries for consideration.

The rules and regulations for this year's contest can be found on the SCGS website.. Be sure to review the FAQs to get all the details.

Winners will be notified by May 1, 2016. Winning entries will be listed on the SCGS website and will be published in the society's quarterly publication, The Searcher.

Winners will be selected from two categories:

CATEGORY 1
Family history or local history stories, memoirs, or character sketches of 1,000-2,000 words in length, published or unpublished. If previously published, entries must be accompanied by the written permission of the publisher allowing the article to be reprinted by SCGS.

Awards:
1st Place, $200
2nd Place, $100
3rd Place, $50
Honorable Mentions, certificate
Finalists, certificate

CATEGORY 2
Family history or local history stories, memoirs, or character sketches of 1,000 words or less, published or unpublished. If previously published, entries must be accompanied by the written permission of the publisher allowing the  article to be reprinted by SCGS.

Awards:
1st Place, $100
2nd Place, $50
3rd Place, $25
Honorable Mentions, certificate
