[CA-SCGS] GHSA Interest Group Meeting, Saturday, August 1, 2020, 10:00 to 4:00 pm

The GSHA Interest Group will meet on Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Online.

Hispanic Tuesdays meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month (except December) from 10-4 pm. Leonard Trujillo will be available for research assistance.

For more information, contact Cathy Romero, cath.romero@ sbcglobal.net or Ricardo P. Reyes, ricopreyes@aol.com.

GSHA-SC will be offering their members an online GoToMeeting presentation by Dr. Sunny Vazquez-Ron McMullen, The Contributions of Spain During the American Revolutionary War. Without the valuable assistance of Spain and its most important leader, Bernardo de Galvez, the American Colonists would have lost the American Revolutionary War. Spain contributed valuable assistance to the American Colonists and Bernardo de Galvez won many battles against the British.

The mission of the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America-Southern California (GSHA) is to promote Hispanic genealogical and historical research, and to expand awareness and knowledge of Hispanic culture, historical contributions, and traditions. The GSHA-SC is a large and active group that meets at the SCGS Library four times a year, usually on the first Saturday in the months of February, May, August & December, from 10-4 pm.

Meetings feature speakers and/or workshops, a break for a no host, family style lunch, and opportunities to network and research after lunch. Meetings are free and open to the public. Guests are always welcome and invited to join the group.
