[CA-SCGS] REMINDER: SCGS Annual Meeting, Saturday, December 8, 2018, 11:am to 3:00 pm

   SCGS Annual

Membership Meeting

This is the time of year when we celebrate the Southern California Genealogical Society, our members, and our dedicated volunteers.

Saturday, December 8, 2018

11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

at the SCGS Library

417 Irving Drive

Burbank, CA 91504

Come and share our annual celebration with your family history friends!

The SCGS Board of Directors will provide the main dishes. Please bring your favorite appetizer, side dish, salad, fruit, non-alcoholic beverage or dessert to share. Show off your heritage and share your favorite family recipes. The wonderful variety of dishes, family stories and fellowship with genealogy friends never ceases to amaze and brings good cheer to all.

The Annual Meeting follows the potluck luncheon. At this time the 2019 Board of Directors election results will be announced and new Board members will be introduced. Longtime members and past presidents will be honored and members of the Board and leaders of the SCGS Interest Groups will update us on what has happened in 2018, and what the exciting plans are for 2019.

Finally, the moment you've been waiting for since June will arrive... the Jamboree Committee will reveal the exciting plans for Jamboree 2019!

You don't want to miss the excitement - or the chance to win a 4-day registration to the 50th Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree or a 1-day registration to the 2019 Genetic Genealogy Conference!

RSVP to: scgs@scgsgenealogy.com

For questions about donations of books or genealogical materials to the SCGS Library, please call the Library during business hours and ask for Sally Emerson or the Book Acquisition team.

Mark your calendars today and plan to join us!

Bag Inserts – Don’t throw away those Show Specials!

We’ve asked every Exhibitor to offer you a show special that beats anything you can get on the Internet.  Many have put their show specials on their conference bag flyers. So, don’t just chuck those papers in the nearest bin!  Take a moment to see who has the special you’ve been waiting for … maybe one you haven’t thought of yet!

[CA--SCGS] Jamboree Registrations to Remain Open an Extra Week!

What happens when your new registration system works so well?

You keep registration open an

extra week!

All conferences are challenged with the need to close registration far ahead of the actual event. This is due to the time required to produce attendee registration materials. This year, thanks to the generous donations of SCGS members and supporters, we launched new internal systems. These systems have significantly improved the process across all levels of conference planning, including registration. The system has been so successful, we can leave registration open for credit card purchases^* through Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 11:59pm.

Online Registration* for the 49^th Annual Genealogy Jamboree,

6^th Annual Genetic Genealogy, and Family History Writers conferences

will remain open

through

midnight Sunday, May 20^th

Thank you to our wonderful SCGS members, fantastic Jamboree supporters and dedicated volunteers for answering the call to bring our Society and conference systems, website and registration up to new standards.

Keep watching!  There’s more to come …

^*Registrations paid by check will close at the previously published date of May 12, 11:59 pm.  All payments by check must be postmarked no later than May 12. Refunds close May 12, 11:59 PM.  All purchases made after May 12, 11:59 pm are non-refundable.
